Schedule Smedule

The whole schedule thing took way too much time and while it'll be something nice for the future.... I'm glad that crap is done.

As the spring schedule concludes, the only real exciting thing coming up is the draft. And then the long and dreary cold summer of football silence. Our only hope for entertainment is the Fulmer Cup, which has been fairly quiet. We can only hope that people do lots of illegal stuff.

NCAA = Teh Wainches

Like clockwork, the *(&^%!@# NCAA steps in to ruin all things normal and fun. The hammer that is Myles Brand has said that the football teams that will be part of the "Gridirion Bash" concert series would violate some sort of NCAA policy.

What policy you ask?

Who the foxtrot knows?

Wait, wait...

Here it is:

“We never expressed any concern with the actual event being conducted as scheduled,” the NCAA said in a written statement, “but only with the participation of student-athletes as part of the for-profit event.”

According to the NCAA, MSL wanted to use the appearance of football players as part of the event, and did not want to require athletes to pay admission. Both would have violated NCAA rules

Holy crap? Y'all have a problem with the schools making money off of students popularity? The same organization that allows for tickets to sell for thousands of dollars and doesn't mind taking a chunk of that every single week of the season has a problem with football players seeing a concert for free? Completely understandable.

Crap, I have a problem with third and fourth string punters getting into the games for free. Most of them will never have to do anything on a gameday and they get a seat 10 times better than the one I paid for.

We've done two basketball posts now and they both involve Texas Tech.

Because in less than one week the Raiders have lost amazingly, won against a top 10 team, and lost even more amazingly.

I don't know how you manage to sandwich one of your best wins in school history between your two worst losses in school history, but congratulations Red Raiders. My mask is off to you.

Emporer Parseghian does not look kindly upon failures

Parseghian is one of Notre Dame's most prolific and successful coaches in the school's history.

“It defies a logical explanation,” said Parseghian, 84, who splits time at residences in northern Indiana just five miles from Notre Dame Stadium and in Marco Island, Fla. “Apparently after winning 19 games and losing six in two years, the rebuilding process didn’t quite measure up. The schedule is not quite as difficult this year, so I think they’ll make a rebound.”

Auburn's Defense Chop-Tackles As Well. Who knew?

Auburn is down a few RB's (Thanks Wizard of Odds), early in the year.
